MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES

HOLIDAY SHORES SANITARY DISTRICT

Monday January 10, 2022

The Board of Trustees of the Holiday Shores Sanitary District met on the above date in regular session pursuant to laws and rules of said Board of Trustees and in accordance with the terms of the notice of regular meeting.

Jeff Sedlacek, President called the meeting to order.  Trustees, Richard Hayes and Brennan Murphy were present.  Also present were Carla Lankster, District Clerk and  Mr. Ken Dulle of Restoration Resources.

OPEN FORUM

A Letter to the Trustees was submitted by Mr. Michael Hobin of 6904 Drew Drive, regarding a backup in his basement.  The alarm malfunctioned, and the grinder failed, causing sewerage to back up into an unfinished part of the basement, as well as a large area with carpet.  He is asking for a reimbursement to  him for the carpet to be replaced, with comparable quality carpet.  He also had to have someone clean the concrete floor and lost some rugs and miscellaneous items in boxes, but is not asking for any other reimbursement.  Mr. Hayes made a motion to Reimburse Mr. Hobin for the amount to replace carpet.  Mr. Murphy seconded the motion and all Trustees voted “Aye”.  

APPROVAL OF MINUTES                                                                                                                                            

The minutes of December 13 , 2021 regular meeting were submitted for approval.  Mr. Murphy made a motion to approve the minutes for the December 13, 2021 regular meeting.  Mr. Hayes seconded the motion and all Trustees voted “Aye”.

FINANCIAL                                                                                                                                                                   

The Summary of Accounts was reviewed for the month-end balances on December 31, 2021.  Mr. Murphy made a motion to approve Summary of Accounts.  Mr. Hayes seconded the motion, and all Trustees voted “Aye”.

DISBURSEMENTS

After reviewing the Accounts Payable disbursements for the month of December 2021, Mr. Hayes made a motion to approve the December 2021 disbursements.  Mr. Murphy seconded the motion and all Trustees voted “Aye”.

Restoration Resources submitted Invoice #682, dated 1/3/2022 for December 2021 Operations Management.  Mr. Hayes made a motion to approve Restoration Resources Invoice #682, for December 2021 Operations Management.  Mr. Murphy seconded the motion and all Trustees voted “Aye”.

There were no invoices over $500.00 that needed a Trustee signature this month.

APPROVAL OF APPLICATIONS                                                                                                                                              

The water and sewer applications for December 2021 were reviewed.  Mr. Hayes made a motion to approve December 2021 applications.  Mr. Murphy seconded the motion and all the Trustees voted “Aye”, and signed the list of applications.

OTHER

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

Resolution No. 20220110 was submitted for Approval and Signatures.  The Resolution is in support of Holiday Shores Association 2022 Project Plan submitted under the Madison County Sustainability Program.  The program is for improvements to storm water drainage and reducing erosion.  Mr. Murphy made a motion to approve Resolution No. 20220110.  Mr. Hayes seconded the motion, and all Trustees voted “Aye”.  Resolution was signed by all Trustees and the District Clerk.

OPERATIONS

The IEPA did an inspection of the Water Plant, to check for any violations.  Mr. Dulle said the IEPA passed everything except they suggested the need for a “Cross Connection Survey” to be sent out to all Holiday Shores residents.  It has been several years since one has been mailed out, and the District needs to know how many residents have irrigation systems or automatic pool pumps that use check valves to avoid chemicals backing up into the HSSD water system.

ADJOURNMENT OF REGULAR MEETING

Mr. Hayes made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting.  Mr. Murphy seconded the motion, and all Trustees voted “Aye”.
